About us

Today, the Zirbelnuss Rally is a well-established event with a "full house" guarantee. We have learned from our mistakes, invested in equipment, and above all: we never lost our sense of humor.

It all began in May 2000 with 18 pioneers, a scavenger hunt, and the counting of wayside crosses. What started as a minor "financial suicide mission" for our club's treasury quickly evolved into a true highlight of the Augsburg racing calendar, thanks to the dedicated core members of the Motorsport Abteilung Augsburg e.V.

Whether it’s a slalom course with our "crazy go-kart" (which steers left when you turn right), riding a handcar (draisine), or the deployment of our legendary modified VW Beetle – for us, having fun always comes first.

Pure Passion:

We have braved wind, weather, and even continuous rain – including participants who conquered the course wearing only their undershirts to keep the rest of their clothes dry!

Strong community:

From our humble beginnings in Horgau to glamorous starts on the Maximilianstraße or at the City-Galerie – the rally has grown, just like our fantastic team of members and sponsors.
